Finding Your Purpose
True happiness is found when you align your actions with purpose.
Nearly all Gen Zers want purpose-driven work, according to a survey by Deloitte, but not all know what that purpose is.
There are three essential components of purpose: a vision, a community, and an opportunity.
For example, many Gen Z’ers are taking a stand (vision) on climate change, but they also are doing their research, looking closely at a company's (community) actions in order to determine whether or not they’re following through on promises via their work (opportunity).
For a lot of new grads, it’s time to decide: what type of company do YOU want to be working for? When applying for jobs, ask yourself these questions:
Does my vision coincide with the company's values?
Does the company’s culture align with my goals?
Will I find my purpose working here?
Are Gen Zers “Sellouts”?

Forget purpose, some young professionals just want the $$$.
A world seemingly “on fire” has some Gen Zers determined to make money and get to the top of the workforce by any means necessary, yet it’s causing other generations to call them “sellouts.”
A new article from Fast Company states that, “[Gen Z] reject the idea [of] economic growth [as] good for everyone, yet strive to work for some of the largest companies in the world. They are socialists trying to make as much money as possible.”
Gen Zers often complain of inheriting a “broken” world of which they’re powerless to fix. A recent New York Times article outlined how young professionals are faced with making the uneasy choice of entering the workforce and being successful or pursuing their values.
