Visualizing your ideal career

Behold the power of creative visualization!

The concept of using a vision board to manifest an individual’s future has been around a long time, with some historians believing it started with the Ancient Egyptians. But more recently, vision boards took over Pinterest and other social media platforms to help individuals set goals, stay motivated, and achieve their aspirations!

A vision board is typically a collage of images, words, and phrases that represent both short and long-term goals. These homemade digital or IRL boards help with self-awareness and can help you reflect on what’s most important.

Setting clear and achievable goals is also vital for accomplishing objectives in your career, so it’s important to create a visual representation of your desired future. Building a career vision board not only improves productivity and intentionality, it also increases the chances of success.

Millennials and Gen Z changing business attire

Source: LinkedIn

Gen Z and Millennials are killing the fashion game.

Workplace attire shifted dramatically in the last five years, with the typical corporate suit and tie out the door and a more casual approach now standard. Here are some of the most noticeable differences:

  1. Embrace of Business Casual Clothing

The “business-casual” look is increasingly popular with both Millennials and Gen Z, emphasizing a smart, professional, and comfortable style.

  2. Tech-Centric Work Attire is Common

Tech companies implementation of casual wear (e.g. Mark Zuckerberg’s infamous hoodie) further relaxed outfits in the workplace.

  3. Emphasis on Individuality and Diversity

Millennials and Gen Z’s diversity changed how businesses approach clothing in the office, as they now recognize it as a reflection of individuality versus a distraction from professionalism.

  4. Work/Life Integration

The Covid-19 pandemic eliminated boundaries between work and life settings, leading to more clothing that works both at the office and at home.

  5. Sustainability and Ethical Fashion

Younger generations are more aware of environmental and ethical issues, leading to a high demand for sustainable clothing that employers also embrace.
