How to Respond to Feedback at Work

Feedback at work can feel like a punch to the gut—especially when you're just starting out. But here’s the deal: learning to handle it like a boss can be a game-changer. Here’s how to take feedback in stride, and become stronger for it.

Separate You from Your Work
Remember: feedback is about what you did, not who you are. It’s not personal—it’s a blueprint for doing better next time. So, keep your cool and don’t let it hit where it hurts.

Listen Without Reacting
When feedback rolls in, your instinct might be to defend yourself. Don’t. Instead, listen, ask questions to clarify, and maybe jot down notes. Need a moment? Thank them and let it simmer before you decide what to do with it.

Turn Feedback into a To-Do List
Good feedback is like a checklist for improvement. Break it down into actions you can take. If your manager says, “I need more detail here,” think about ways to add specifics, not about what went wrong.

It might sting at first, but honest feedback is proof that people see potential in you. Embrace it, keep learning, and trust that each step is helping you get closer to where you want to be. You’ve got this!

Meet Gemini, Google’s New AI App

Your move, Apple.

Google has launched Gemini Live for iPhone, a slick new app aiming to make AI assistants more interactive and accessible. As The Verge reports, the free app lets you chat with Gemini via text, voice, or camera, and responds with lifelike, expressive voices that make the experience feel surprisingly human.

One standout feature is Gemini Live, a conversational mode that allows for dynamic, back-and-forth interactions. You can interrupt responses, switch topics, or go deeper into a question—all with ease. It also integrates neatly with iPhone’s Dynamic Island and lock screen, so you can keep chatting without staying in the app. Plus, it connects to Google apps like YouTube Music and Google Maps.

Granted, it’s not perfect. Gemini Live doesn’t have the ability to adjust phone settings or interact with non-Google apps, limiting its usefulness compared to Siri. And while it’s fast and easy to use, its functionality feels more like a stepping stone than a fully polished product.

The World’s Best Workplaces

What makes a great workplace?

Fortune’s World’s Best Workplaces list spotlights global companies that prioritize exceptional workplace culture, employee well-being, and inclusivity. The rankings are based on surveys from 6.2 million employees across 18 million workers worldwide.

To qualify, companies must operate in at least three countries, employ a minimum of 5,000 people globally, and have at least 40% of their workforce or 5,000 employees located outside the headquarters country. This international perspective ensures that only organizations committed to a positive, consistent work experience across borders make the cut.

For young professionals, these companies offer more than just job stability; they provide mentorship, diverse career paths, inclusive culture, and forward-thinking policies that enhance both personal and professional development.
