Green Jobs: Gen Z’s Passion Project
One of the hottest employment trends of 2024 is ‘green jobs’ or employment that contributes to preserving or restoring the environment. These opportunities are in traditional sectors such as manufacturing or construction, and in new, emerging green sectors like renewables.
Here’s a few examples of entry level ‘Green Jobs’:
Sustainability Coordinator: Involves implementing ‘green’ initiatives, collecting and analyzing data related to environmental performance, and reporting & communication efforts.
Environmental, Social, Governance (aka - ESG) Analyst: Involves researching and analyzing a company’s ‘green’ performance.
Looking at financial reports, news articles, other data sources to identify risks and opportunities.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Involves supporting ‘green’ and other initiatives with the goal of helping businesses contribute to wider societal goals, tracking and reporting on metrics and performance, and engaging stakeholders and communities to promote efforts.
If any of this sounds appealing, do this now:
Research ESG & CSR positions.
