Best Paid Side Gigs
Plus: Quiksilver leaves America + Lifehack
🎙️ Did You Know? On this day in 2005, the Kyoto Protocol went into effect, pushing nations to take action against climate change. It was a big step, but the real work never stops.
Building a better world isn't just about today, it's about the future we leave behind. Every effort we make now will shape the world and the “you” of tomorrow.

Best Side Gigs
More money... And a little more work
Just one job? In this economy? one job just isn't enough. Rent, bills, and maybe dinner with friends once in a while? Expensive. But if one job is too much, who has time for a side hustle that feels like a second full-time job? The good news is, you don't have to sacrifice sleep (or sanity) to make extra cash.
If you're looking for a flexible way to make money without working yourself into the ground, here are some solid side hustles that actually work.
💻 Virtual Assistant ($10-$30/hr, 10-20 hrs/week)
Good at staying organized? Small business owners will pay you to handle emails, schedule meetings, and post on social media. Bonus: You can do it all in your PJs.
🐶 Pet Sitting/Dog Walking ($15-$30/hr, 5-10 hrs/week)
Dogs, fresh air, and cash? Sounds like a win. Whether it’s daily walks or overnight pet sitting, this gig is perfect if you love animals (and getting paid to hang out with them).
🚗 Ride-Sharing or Delivery Driving ($15-$25/hr, flexible hours)
Uber, Lyft, DoorDash… If you’ve got a car, you’ve got a job. Work when you want and cash out fast. Just remember: gas and maintenance costs add up, so do the math before committing.
🏠 House Sitting ($25-$50/day, easy hours)
People go on vacation, and you get paid to make sure their plants don’t die. Sometimes it even comes with a free place to stay.
🧑🏫 Tutoring ($20-$50/hr, 5-10 hrs/week)
If you know math, science, or even a second language, parents (and struggling college students) will pay you to help. Online platforms like Wyzant make it easy to start.
💡 RoadMap Tip: The best side hustle is one that fits into your life without draining you. Put in a few extra hours a week, but be careful not to turn your side hustle into a full-time job.

Quiksilver, Billabong, and Volcom stores across the U.S. are set to close after their operator, Liberated Brands, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. More than 100 stores will shut down as the company cites economic challenges, shifting consumer habits, and inflationary pressures.
Liberated Brands expanded aggressively during the pandemic, growing from 67 to 140 stores amid a retail boom. However, rising interest rates, inflation, and a shift toward online shopping and fast fashion led to declining profitability.
Despite the closures, fans of these surf and skate brands can expect them to continue under new management, as parent company Authentic Brands Group plans to transition to a different operator.
